The right to privacy is enshrined in the American constitution. Nothing is more private than medical decisions related to a woman’s health and reproduction choices. This right was recognized and upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court for 70 years until 2021. The reversal of Roe v. Wade is a dangerous attack on all American rights that are rooted in past Supreme Court decisions.

Roe v. Wade and Brown v. Board of Education were Supreme Court decisions that established women’s right to abortion and Black civil rights respectively.

If the Supreme Court can reverse Roe v. Wade, it can reverse Brown v. Board and other civil rights laws, reestablishing legal segregation and overt racial oppression.

The reversal of Roe v. Wade opens the door to reversing other important privacy rights, including contraception and marriage choice.

Black and low-income women are disproportionately impacted by the reversal of Roe v. Wade.
